America’s favorite game is back and The Sports Bank has you covered with the best and worst of what was Fantasy Football Week Nine
Just when you thought the RB position was back, QB’s came roaring back with six of the top ten fantasy performances this week.

Fantasy MVP: WR Vincent Jackson (7 REC, 141 YDS and 3 TD = 32 points)
I’m not sure whether Jackson’s performance can be credited to his obvious talent or a terrible Green Bay Packers defense. Either way, fantasy owners received a treat this past Sunday when Vincent racked up over 100 receiving yards in the first quarter alone. He also took part in the Chargers attempted rally by adding two of his three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Jackson’s been battling a leg injury of late, but it appeared to have no effect this time around. Expect big things from Jackson going forward (Oakland in week ten), especially when considering the status of the Chargers beat up running game.
Honorable Mention: QB Aaron Rodgers (30 points), RB Willis McGahee (28 points) and WR Julio Jones (28 points)
Disappointing Performance of the Week: RB Beanie Wells (33 Total YDS = 3 points)
Against a mediocre St. Louis defense, Wells was supposed to have his second consecutive solid game. But instead, he followed his 14 point fantasy performance versus the Rams with a whopping three fantasy points. Among his ten carries, Wells was pretty much stuffed on every single one of them. While the guy appears to be healthy, the Cardinals production is really hit or miss. I would temper your expectations for Wells in week ten when Arizona travels to Philadelphia.
Wasting Away (Best Bench Player): RB Willis McGahee (20 RUSH, 163 YDS and 2 TD = 28 points)
Are you kidding me, 28 points? I’m not sure how many people saw this coming (started in 20.5 % of leagues), but McGahee did say he was ready to come back from his broken hand. He started out slow, but then added touchdowns of 60 and 24 yards to make sure Tim Tebow wasn’t the leading rusher for the Denver Broncos in their surprising come-back win over the Raiders. I really like McGahee in week ten as the Broncos travel to Kansas City to take on a Chiefs team who was just burned by Reggie Bush.
Somebody Pick Me Up (Best Free Agent): QB Matt Moore (17/23, 244 YDS and 3 TD = 21 points)
Moore looked like a legit quarterback against the Chiefs, while putting together quite the efficient performance in the Dolphins first win of the year. More importantly, Moore wasn’t sacked once and is owned in only 1.6 % of leagues. I expect him to be a hot add in week ten when the Dolphins take on the sliding Washington Redskins.
QB Andy Dalton (20 points, 23.7 %), QB Carson Palmer (19 points, 24.3 %), WR Jacoby Ford (16 points, 36.4 %) and WR Eddie Royal (16 points, 0.9 %) should also be considered for roster spots in the upcoming week.
Hurts So Bad (Worst Injury): WR Miles Austin (Hamstring)
After catching his second pass in the second quarter of the Cowboys’ game with the Seahawks, Austin felt some pain in his right hamstring. On Monday, Fox Sports Southwest reported that Austin will miss anywhere from 2-to-4 weeks. Not good for Austin owners who already saw the receiver miss two weeks earlier this season due to his left hamstring. This provides an obvious boost to Dez Bryant, but waiver-wire add Laurent Robinson as well. I also really like tight-end Jason Witten who has been one of the best at his position this season.
